Hungry Kitties

Hungry Kitties, photographed by GenGlo.

My mom feeds all the stray and feral cats in the neighborhood, and unfortunately people are always dumping cats. She also feeds the birds, squirrels, etc. that visit her yard. We visited my mother to celebrate her 84th birthday and met some of the cats. This is Tom, he is a new father cat. He is super friendly and would be a great pet once he is neutered.

Mortimer is one of our foster kids. He is a real love bunny and a super snuggly guy.

I know it's rude, but I can't resist taking photos of Burt in his snuggly toy basket.

Cozy Lucy

Cozy Lucy, photographed by GenGlo.

She made herself at home right away and crawled into bed with her head on the pillow. This was taken right after we adopted her and her nails had not been trimmed yet. Although she is a sweet girl at home, she is feisty at the vet's office. It took four vet techs and a muzzle for her first pedicure.

Cleo Says...

Cleo Says..., photographed by GenGlo.

Happy Furry Friday!! Cleo is a very talkative kitty, and one of our favorite games is to say, Cleo says,... and she starts chattering, as if replying, (or possibly telling us to shut up). Of course, I actually caught her in mid-yawn here, so I hope she will forgive me posting this online.

It's a Girl!

It's a Girl!, photographed by GenGlo.

We brought home a new pound puppy yesterday. We are still trying to agree on her name, but I'm leaning towards Lucy. Sarah wanted to give her a Greek name, and Lance suggested Athena, but she seems more like a Lucy to me. The Greek reference is Saint Lucy (ΛΟΥΚΙΑ) or Santa Lucia, one of the Orthodox saints. Her name day is December 13.

We brought Belle to the pound to see if they like each other and the girls seem to get along well. Right now they are friendly, but somewhat uninterested in each other. Our new girl seems to be afraid of the cats and ferrets though. She runs to me if they get too close.

Elmo Playing Wack-a-Weasel with Sniffles

The cats love playing with the ferrets when they are tunneling. They are so gentle with the fuzzies, too.

Snuggly Paula

Snuggly Paula, photographed by Julianne Gentile.

Paula is such a snuggly bunny. She often climbs on my lap and sleeps just like this. She also likes to stuff herself in the ferret hideaways, so she has that familiar smell of warm corn chips most of the time.

Paula Says...

Paula Says..., photographed by Julianne Gentile.

Happy Furry Friday! This is one of the few photos where you can see Paula's little thumb. She is fairly adept with her little toes and she is a good girl with her claws (most of the time). She lets me hold her like a baby to trim her nails, but she still gets them caught on my sheers once in a while :(

Shhh, We're Hunting Wabbits

I took this photo back when Paula first came to live with us. I was crawling around on the floor looking for Paula under the furniture and discovered that Elmo was skulking around with me, as if he was my trusty sidekick.

Sleeping 20 hours a day is tiring work.

Happy Birthday Princess Buttercup!

Buttercup was rescued from a dumpster, so we really don't know her actual birthday. Her cage card at the shelter said 1/1/2000, so we just use that date. She is at least 8 years old and is one of the most cuddly of all ferrets. She has been acting really droopy lately and I'm unsure if she is not feeling well, or grieving the loss of Ernie. Hopefully the doc can give us some ideas.
